Did you know that less than 1% of our planet’s water is potable, but the rest is unsafe to drink or is inaccessible?
The 6.8 billion people who live on planet Earth have to share this .007% of fresh, drinkable water!
The 6.8 billion people who live on planet Earth have to share this .007% of fresh, drinkable water!
The third and fourth grade GATE classes at Spring Creek have been studying water. As part of this unit, we learned how to conserve and care for our water in Laramie, and also learned about water crises around the world, especially in India.

We want to help be good stewards of our planet’s water by conserving in Laramie and raising money so that the people of India can buy or create water filters. Right now, many people in India have to walk several miles to get a very small amount of potable water, which is expensive to buy. The average family in Laramie uses 400 gallons of water per day, while the average family in India has only between 2 gallons and 100 gallons to use each day depending on where they live.

Please support our efforts to conserve water in Laramie and to be good stewards of our watershed. You can support us by buying our bookmarks or making a direct donation to raise money for people in India. The money we raise will go towards an Indian company, Nature’s Water Filter, which helps Indian people use simple and natural materials to make a filter that provides families with potable water.
